Perumkaliyattam : Festival for business or not: A case study by analysing the Poobanamkuzhi , Kannamangalam , Kakkot Eramam Muchilot , Kenamangalam
It is interesting to watch the drama going on in the Perumkaliyattam scenary
Earlier all performances for the devotees
Now for whom?
Is it for Cameramen..............photographers
Devotees are ready with digital camera
God permitting them to take photos
But gods without face painting scolding in a nasty way
For whom
Not for the God
But for the well wishers
Is it right
The announcements and volunteers all set for the task of giving space to the official photographers
The temple premises not allowed the devotees to come
All for the sake of monopolised cameramen
Is their any meaning for theyyam without devotees
The colour and vigour of theyyam rests in the mass participation
Now only hope rests in the kalasakkar
Through my blog i requesting the kalasakkar [ the kalasam varav create a chance for all to see the theyyam ] to do their duty
to give chance to all by breaking the restrictions to watch and cover the theyyams they like and worship
At Punnakkal the kalasakkar shows the might of worship
And in Kalarivathukkal, Madiyan koolom, Nileshwar Mannanpurath kavu
All are allowed to take their gods pictures
But why the organisers destriying the pride or colour of the festival for the sake of some monopolies
All are equal before god but

Chuliyar bagavathy and Perumkaliyattam
Chuliyar Bagavathy performed as the main deity in the Poobanam kuzhi Perumkaliyattam. The temple is known as the place where the Poobanam [ arrow made by Sree Thriyambakeswaran or God Siva of Sree Trikkannad temple ] fell. The intention of the poobanam was to give a residing place to Moovalamkuzhi chamundi.

Is Theyyam a ritual ?
Is it belonged to a separate community ?
Is here a Koyma accepted by all ?

Is here personification of goddess ?
